Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Shop Local Marketplace is Open for Business
October 27, 2021(Fort McMurray, AB – October 27th, 2021) – The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of a new eCommerce platform for businesses in the Wood Buffalo region. The Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Shop Local Marketplace is open now for businesses to sign up.
The Shop Local Marketplace will serve as a one-stop shop for people to support local businesses throughout the region. Businesses are able to sign up and list products for sale.
“Shopping local means so much to our community,” says Dianna de Sousa, Executive Director of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce. “Shopping local provides job opportunities, inspires community members to start their own businesses, and drives positive economic change. The Shop Local Marketplace is another way for dollars to stay in our region.”
The Shop Local Marketplace is being offered free for the first 50 businesses to sign up, with promo code SHOPLOCAL. The first 50 businesses will also be entered to win $5,000 in Love.Shop.Local prepaid cards.
Whether a business has an existing eCommerce presence or not, the Shop Local Marketplace will serve as a platform to extend reach and connect with new customers. Businesses are able to list as few or as many items for sale as desired, with no overhead cost.
