THE FORT MCMURRAY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MAKES FURTHER ECOMMERCE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGH DIGITAL ECONOMY PROGRAM

(Fort McMurray, Alberta – March 14, 2022) – The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce further supports for local small businesses.
The Digital Economy Program (DEP), presented in partnership with the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA), StartupYMM, and Community Futures Wood Buffalo, officially launches today in our region.
“Successfully leveraging eCommerce strategies is essential for all small businesses today,” said Dianna de Sousa, Executive Director of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to help drive extraordinary results for business through the Digital Economy Program
partnership.”
The program is delivered through a partnership between Business Link and Digital Main Street and is funded in part by the Government of Alberta Ministry of Jobs, Economy, and Innovation and in part by Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development and Tourism. The DEP is designed to support small businesses as they integrate or upgrade their online operations and
presence.
"Community Futures Wood Buffalo is pleased to support the launch of this program to local businesses. As businesses transition to an e-commerce platform, it provides additional opportunities for business growth." Says Pamela Ramrup, Executive Director of Community Futures Wood Buffalo.
Through this program, Fort McMurray small business will have access to eCommerce practices and resources to help them thrive beyond the COVID-19 pandemic at no cost to them.
Small Businesses that register for the program will have access to experts that either support the development or upgrade of their eCommerce solutions. In both scenarios, access to best practices and training on both the front-end and back-end (supply chain) of the solutions are available. The program also includes product photography support.
Any registered, non-franchised Alberta business with fewer than forty-nine employees is eligible to apply to participate in the program. Further information, including application resources, can be found at
