Alberta's labour market forecast = short 114,000 workers by 2021

Alberta's labour shortage is our federation's number one issue because it is such a limiting factor to economic growth.

This past Friday the province released the Occupational Supply and Demand Outlook 2011-2021, which predicts that by 2021 Alberta will face a shortage of 114,000 workers across all sectors. The full report is available HERE.

Small business, big impact

Alberta's small businesses employ 37 per cent of all private sector employment. And are you ready for this statistic? Small businesses make up 96 per cent of all businesses in Alberta.
